How to Get Started with Your Locable Account

Congratulations on joining Locable!

Available for all plans on the Locable Marketing Platform

 

Now that you have claimed your free Locable Business account we'll help you simplify local marketing into 15-minute activities and automate cross-promotion and collaboration with businesses and causes you support in your community.

 

 

There are many great features available to you but we'd suggest that you start by completing your business profile. This will ensure your free listing is complete and attractive while ensuring that you're well-represented when local businesses cross-promote you.

Get Going

First, you will need to make sure key company data has been added/updated so your business details will be properly displayed when someone is viewing your company profile. To do this, go to Company Profile on the left-hand navigation in your Locable account.

NOTE: If you're on a mobile device you can access the left-hand navigation by clicking the icon in the upper left corner.

You will want to make sure you add all of your pertinent company details here to ensure that your key information is available publicly. You can find more information about keeping your Company Profile data current here.

As you start using the tools in your Locable account (events, blogging, job postings, etc.), these posts and content will also be included in your business profile page.

This is where your content and information live if you don't have a website. When organizations promote you in the directories they create on their website, it will include your business profile and any information or content you post.

NOTE: If you're a Locable website customer your profile will redirect to your Website.

 

Finally, we strongly recommend that you link your Locable account to your Google Business Profile. This will allow you to synchronize updates, distribute events, and enable you to pull in your Google / Google Maps reviews to feature on your profile and website. The goal is to use Locable as the 'single source of truth' for your business info and the only place you will need to make updates about your company.

As you make edits to your company profile, you can save those edits both in your Locable account and sync the changes to your Google account. You can sync your posted events to your Google account as well!

With each of the free tools in your Locable account, you can choose which businesses to 'follow' and Support, and later you'll want to invite them to support you back.

  • Begin adding your events to your Locable account. You can create a calendar feed to display your events, and even embed the calendar feed to your website, even if it is not powered by Locable! You can also support your local businesses by sharing their events along with your own on your calendar feed.
  • Create a local business directory in your Locable account and display a list of businesses you support on your website. By sharing them here you can help promote them to your visitors, an audience that may not otherwise be aware of them.
  • Begin posting content like announcements, news, projects, and more in your Locable account. Our blogging tool makes this so easy! This allows your content to appear on your website, where you can control it, and then be shared to social media and Express Email Newsletters (with any paid account). AND any of your supporters will be able to promote it for you automatically!

As you publish events, blogs, and more, the content will be shared immediately with any websites that are supporting your business through Locable (with a directory listing, in their events calendar, etc.).
