Creating and Using Photo Galleries

Showcase multiple photos together in blog posts, event recaps, and community stories.

Photo Galleries make it easy to display a collection of related images in a single, organized gallery. They're especially useful for blog content like event recaps, community highlights, project updates - any content where multiple photos help tell the story.

Gallery images can be added in two ways:

  • Select existing images from your Media Library,.
  • Upload new images directly to the gallery. Any images uploaded this way will automatically be added to your Media Library for future use.

Once your gallery is created and published, it can be inserted into your blog posts to provide visitors with an engaging visual experience.

 

Creating a Gallery

To create a Gallery, go to Media Library > Galleries. From here you can click to add a New Gallery or Edit an existing gallery.


 

As you create your gallery, you will want to include the following: 


 

  1. Add or edit the title. Giving your gallery a descriptive title will help can stay organized as you add more content.
  2. Add a description - this can be useful for SEO and may be displayed in certain places as your gallery is viewed.
  3. Edit or remove images - once an image is added, if you hover over the image you will have an option to remove the image.
  4. Add new images (you can select from those already uploaded in your Media Library or upload new images).
  5. Click to Publish or Update your Gallery. 

NOTE: Only a published gallery will be available to be added to a blog post or a webpage.

 

Gallery Tips & Best Practices

Before publishing your gallery, keep the following in mind:

Image Order Matters - Images will appear in the gallery in the order they are added. Currently, gallery images cannot be rearranged after they've been added, so be sure to upload them in the order you'd like visitors to view them.

Add Alt Text to Your Images - We recommend adding Alt Text to each image before adding it to your gallery. When visitors view gallery images, the Alt Text can be displayed as the image caption. This also improves accessibility and can provide SEO benefits. Learn more about this here.

Publish the Gallery Before Using It - A gallery must be published before it will appear as a selectable option within your blog post. If you don't see your gallery available when editing a post, verify that the gallery has been published.

 

Sharing your Gallery

Once published, you can add the gallery to your blog post or to a webpage.
