# Understanding Tours
## Learn how Tours help you create interactive, location-based experiences that encourage people to explore your community.
Available with the Community Engagement Core Plus and Max plans on the Locable Marketing Platform.
Locable's Tours feature lets you create interactive experiences that guide locals and visitors through businesses, attractions, landmarks, public art, historic sites, and other points of interest.
Tours can help you turn local places and information into experiences that encourage people to explore, discover, and engage with more of your community.
Visitors can explore Tours through the **Locable mobile app**, available for both **iPhone and Android**:

Tours can also be **embedded as a resource on a webpage**, giving you another way to make the experience available from your website.
### Introduction to Tours

### What Can You Create With Tours?
Tours can support many different types of community experiences, including:
- Walking or driving tours
- Historic building or landmark tours
- Art and mural walks
- Scavenger hunts
- Seasonal or holiday experiences
- Shopping, dining, or other themed experiences
- Visitor guides
- Self-guided local discovery experiences
A Tour can be as simple or detailed as the experience requires.
### How Tours Work
Each Tour is made up of individual **Tour Stops** that represent places you want participants to discover as part of the experience.
Stops are connected to records in your Locable CRM and can be created in two ways:
- **Companies in your CRM** - Businesses and organizations already included in your CRM can be added as Stops.
- **Points of Interest** - Locations that aren't businesses or organizations, such as landmarks, public art, historic sites, parks, or other places you want to feature, can be created as Points of Interest in your CRM and added as Stops.
**A Company and a Point of Interest can sometimes share the same physical location.** For example, a historic building may be represented as a Point of Interest while the business currently occupying the building is represented by its Company record. Choose the record that best represents what you want participants to discover at that Stop.
A single Tour can include both local businesses and other Points of Interest, depending on the experience you're creating.
Together, these Stops can be organized into a Tour that helps people discover and explore your community around a particular theme, activity, or experience.

### Why Use Tours?
Tours give Chambers, Main Streets, Tourism organizations, and other community organizations another way to turn local information into an experience people can actively explore.
Rather than simply presenting a list of places, a Tour can connect locations around a story, theme, activity, or route and encourage people to discover more businesses, attractions, and community assets along the way.
Tours can also be updated and reused, making them useful for both year-round experiences and seasonal campaigns.
