Available for all plans on the Locable Marketing Platform   Publishing an event in Locable makes it easy to promote your event beyond your own website. Through Locable's Local Connections™ technology, your events can appear on connected community calendars, helping more people discover what's happening without requiring you to submit the same event to multiple organizations. Locable also provides built-in options to share your event on Facebook and sync it to your Google Business Profile, helping you reach even more people. ### Accessing Event Distribution Once you publish an event by clicking **Publish Post and Share**, you'll automatically be directed to the Event Distribution page, where you can review your sharing options. You can also return to this page at any time to share an event later. 1. Navigate to **Promote \> Events** in your Locable account. 2. Find the event you want to share. 3. Click the **Distribution icon** associated with that event to open its Event Distribution page. ![](https://help.locable.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-16-29-8206-PM.png?width=2918&height=996&name=image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-16-29-8206-PM.png) From here, you can manage your event's community calendar categories and access sharing options for Facebook and Google Business Profile. ### Selecting Your Calendar Categories If your business or organization is included in a connected community calendar that uses event categories, you'll be prompted to select the categories that best describe your event. These categories are determined by the organization managing that calendar and may differ from the categories in your own Locable account. Selecting relevant categories helps visitors discover your event when browsing or filtering the community calendar. **Best Practices:** - Select all categories that accurately apply to your event. - Avoid selecting unrelated categories just to increase visibility. - If you're included in multiple community calendars, review the available categories for each.   **NOTE:** This step only appears when you're included in a connected community calendar that has event categories configured. ![](https://help.locable.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-06-14-5274-PM.png?width=670&height=335&name=image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-06-14-5274-PM.png)   ### Share Your Event on Facebook Once you publish your event, you'll be prompted to share it on your linked Facebook Page. You will need to add a custom message to accompany the link and choose where visitors will be directed when they click your Facebook post. Your linking options include: - **Your Locable-powered website:** If Locable powers your website, this will be the default and recommended option. It directs visitors to the event post on your own website. - **A connected community website:** Choose to direct visitors to your profile on another website where your business or organization is included. - **Locable's website:** Link to your event on Locable's domain. This event page will also display links to all participating websites sharing your event. **Best Practice:** Whenever possible, direct visitors to your own website to drive traffic, encourage engagement, and help people discover more of your content. If you don't have a Locable-powered website, sharing through a connected community website is another way to increase your visibility. ![](https://help.locable.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-18-42-9987-PM.png?width=1060&height=1816&name=image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-18-42-9987-PM.png) ### Best Practices for Facebook Share Images To help your event images display correctly when shared on Facebook, we recommend following these guidelines: - **Recommended image size:** At least 1200 × 630 pixels for a clear, high-quality link preview. - **Remove unnecessary image metadata:** Images can contain hidden information such as GPS location, camera details, timestamps, and other metadata. We've found that Facebook sometimes fails to display share images containing certain metadata, although it's unclear which specific information causes the issue.   **TIP: If your image isn't appearing when you share your event on Facebook, try removing the image's metadata and uploading it again.** This has been an effective solution for resolving missing Facebook share images. This helps increase your event's visibility on Google, making it easier for people searching for your business or organization to discover upcoming events. Just like when sharing to Facebook, you can choose where visitors will be directed when they click your event link: - **Your Locable-powered website:** Direct visitors to the event on your own website. This is the recommended option when available. - **A connected community website:** Direct visitors to your event through a participating community website where your business or organization is included. - **Locable's website:** Link to your event on Locable's domain, where visitors can also find links to participating websites sharing your event. Once you've selected your preferred link, follow the prompt to sync your event to Google Business Profile. **Best Practice:** Whenever possible, choose your own website as the destination to drive traffic to your site and encourage visitors to explore more of your content.   **NOTE:** You must have your Google Business Profile connected to your Locable account to use this feature.   ![](https://help.locable.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-01-03-1417-PM.png?width=670&height=370&name=image-png-Oct-09-2026-03-01-03-1417-PM.png) #### **Google Business Profile Image Requirements** Images used when syncing your event to Google Business Profile must meet Google's image requirements: - **File format:** JPG or PNG - **Minimum dimensions:** 250 pixels on the shortest edge - **File size:** Between 10 KB and 5 MB **Best Practice:** Use a clear, high-quality image that represents your event.
