How to Create and Manage Tasks in Your CRM

Create and manage reminders for follow-ups, to-dos, and next steps in your CRM.

The Tasks feature makes it easy to stay organized and never miss a follow-up. Assign tasks to yourself or other users in your Locable account, link them to a Company or Contact, and keep all of your to-dos and next steps in one convenient place.

Creating a Task

You can create a new task directly from your dashboard or by going to CRM > Tasks and clicking 'New Task'.

When creating your task, you can add the following details:

Title – a short description of what needs to be done.

Description – optional details, notes, or next steps.

Due Date – select when the task should be completed or followed up on.

Assignees – designate who should complete the task (including yourself). You can assign a task to multiple users in your Locable account.

Associated Companies – designate which company record this task is associated with, if applicable.

Associated Contacts – designate which cotact record this task is associated with, if applicable.

Viewing and Managing Tasks

Once tasks are created, you will see an overview of tasks on your dashboard:

All your tasks can be viewed in one place by going to CRM > Tasks:


From here, you can:

  • View past due and upcoming tasks for all users

  • Search or Filter by title, date, assigned user or company/contact record

  • Edit or delete tasks 
  • Mark tasks as complete once finished

This makes it easy to keep track of open items and manage follow-ups across your team.

Viewing Task Details

Click on the title of the task to open and view all details for this task:

If the task is associated with a company in your CRM, you will see the task(s) in their company record:

If the task is associated with a contact in your CRM, you will see the task(s) in their contact record:

You can also add new tasks in either the company or contact record, as well as edit or delete existing task(s). 

Completing a Task

You can mark your task completed by clicking the checkbox:

Once completed, the task will move from your main CRM > Tasks dashboard and can be found by clicking 'View Completed Tasks':

Notifications and Reminders

When a task is assigned to a user, the assignee will automatically receive an email notification.

Additional reminders will be sent one time per day for any tasks due the next day. This should ensure tasks are not overlooked.
